CEWA Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
Information for Parents and Caregivers
Catholic Education Western Australia is acting on the advice of the WA Department of Health to take the necessary precautions for schools and staff.
Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) – Updated Advice from the Chief Health Officer
Schools have now been open for students since the commencement of Term 2 and I am very encouraged by the way the school community, parents and students are caring for their health and attending school in a responsible way. This is building community confidence in the safety of our schools with the overall attendance rate reaching over 82%.
Return to Direct Mode of Instruction
You will all be aware of the continuing very low level of transmission of the COVID-19 virus within the WA community. Since the start of Term Two, we have had a steady increase in students physically returning to school with 82% of students forecast to be onsite on Monday 11 May. As a result, St John’s School is adjusting the way in which we are working with our students.
CEWA Executive Director Term 2 Update
I wanted to firstly thank you for your strong support of Catholic Education Western Australia (CEWA), and especially for our wonderful staff, over the past six weeks. Our system’s commitment to a Christ-centred and student-focused education has been at the forefront of our efforts as we have been challenged by and responded to the COVID-19 pandemic.
