St John’s Strong Attendance Initiative
The new St John’s Strong initiative celebrates positive attendance habits
through Gold, Silver and Bronze recognition, encouraging students to make
the most of the learning, sporting, cultural and faith experiences on offer.
Breakfast Club Off to a Great Start
The new Breakfast Club has been a wonderful success, with students from
all year levels enjoying a complimentary breakfast and a healthy,
welcoming start to their school day.
Ari’s Once-in-a-Lifetime Soccer Experience
Congratulations to Year 5 student Ari, who was selected for a special
pre-game experience at the Milan AC v Inter AC match in recognition of
his dedication and commitment to his local soccer club.
Faction Athletics Carnival
The Faction Athletics Carnival is coming up on Friday 21 August, bringing
together students from Pre-Primary to Year 6 for a big day of athletics
and faction spirit at the Geraldton Little Athletics Centre.
Book Week – A Symphony of Stories!
Children’s Book Week will be celebrated in Week Six, with this year’s
theme “A Symphony of Stories!” and the much-loved book parade taking
place on Thursday 27 August.

Welcome to Term Three
Students have returned refreshed and ready for a busy term filled with
learning, athletics and school spirit. It has been wonderful to welcome
everyone back after the holiday break.
Holiday Works Completed
A range of maintenance and safety improvements were completed over the
holidays, including classroom upgrades, security servicing, carpet
cleaning and resurfacing works around the school.
NAIDOC Week Celebrations
Students have celebrated NAIDOC Week through engaging learning
experiences that deepen their understanding and appreciation of
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and achievements.
St Carlo Acutis Relic Visit
St John's School will welcome a Major Pilgrim Relic of St Carlo Acutis,
giving students a special opportunity to learn about his life, faith and
devotion to the Eucharist.
Confirmation Preparation Begins
Year 6 students preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation have key
Commitment Masses coming up this term, ahead of the celebration in
September.

Happy Holidays
As Term Two concludes, families are wished a safe and restful break, with
students returning refreshed for Term Three on Monday 20 July.
Mid-Year Reports
Students have received their Mid-year Reports, providing families with a
summary of progress, achievements and areas for future growth.
Term Two Co-curricular Opportunities
Students enjoyed a wide range of co-curricular experiences throughout Term
Two, building skills, confidence and community connections.
St John’s Church Re-opening
St John’s Church Rangeway will officially re-open with Sunday Mass on
5 July, following two and a half years of repair works.
NAIDOC Week Celebrations
Term Three will begin with NAIDOC Week celebrations, including an Opening
Mass, cultural activities, a breakfast barbeque and prayer assembly.

Communio Week Success
A huge thank you to our school community for their extraordinary generosity
during Communio Week, supporting local Catholic agencies and making a
meaningful difference to those in need.
Faction Cross Country Results
Students demonstrated courage, determination and resilience at the Faction
Cross Country Carnival, with strong participation and outstanding
sportsmanship across all year levels.
First Eucharist Celebration
Our Year 4 students celebrated the Sacrament of First Eucharist, marking a
special milestone in their faith journey surrounded by families, staff and
the parish community.
Andrew Chinn Inspires Students
Students enjoyed a memorable visit from Catholic musician Andrew Chinn,
sharing music, faith and friendship while connecting with students from
St Mary’s School, Northampton.
Year 5/6 STEM Showcase
Our Year 5 and 6 students are preparing to share their innovative STEM
projects with families and the wider community, showcasing creativity,
problem-solving and design thinking.

First Eucharist Celebrations
Congratulations to the Year 4 students preparing to receive the Sacrament
of First Eucharist on 13 June as they complete their final preparations for
this important milestone in their faith journey.
Faction Cross Country
Students are preparing for the Faction Cross Country, with a focus on
participation, effort, resilience and faction spirit as they take on the course.
Improving Student Writing
Staff recently participated in professional learning focused on writing,
exploring high-impact teaching strategies and ways to strengthen student
engagement and achievement.
Communio Week
Students will take part in Communio Week activities, including the
Communio Market Day, helping raise funds to support people in need across
the Geraldton Diocese.
Andrew Chinn Visiting St John’s
Renowned Catholic musician Andrew Chinn will visit St John’s School for a
day of music workshops and a whole-school concert celebrating faith,
community and music.
